Die-Struck Sterling Silver Signet Rings
Hand engraved silver jewelry is popular, profitable and satisfying to do. But
most cast silver rings don’t hand engrave well due to porosity and inconsistent
metallurgy. Die striking is a superior metal forming process that can
replace casting for certain shapes such as these signet rings. While
die striking is more expensive, the result is a superior piece. GRS commissioned
a jewelry manufacturing firm that specializes in die making and striking
to make these beautiful rings. The rings are noticeably thicker and heavier
than ordinary silver signet rings. The higher quality manufacturing process
means these rings engrave more like a high quality gold ring than silver. The
oval face is approximately 0.54" X 0.47" (13.7mm x 11.9mm).
